Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around lately. As the topic title suggests, I have been kicked in the balls by life recently. I'll try to briefly explain what is going on.
Recently I lost a baby, and the chance to be a dad (for the second time in 5 years). There were some complications and what we thought was the start of a miscarriage, but the girl decided not to even give the baby a chance and had it aborted (somewhat similar to what happened 5 years ago). Needless to say, this has taken a pretty heavy toll on me, especially being the second time I have gone through something like this.
Unlike the last time, this time I decided I needed some help and that I couldn't cope with this on my own. So that is where I have been for the last little bit. Getting help. Things with me have improved somewhat on that front, but I still have some work to do to finally get myself through this.
Adding to this, about a week after all of this happened, I lost my job. I worked for family so how shitty is that? Losing my job wasn't because of this baby stuff either, it stemmed from a disagreement about work. Needless to say, this really just made a bad situation that much worse and has caused problems in my family.
With everything that is going on, and now being out of work, I'm having to make the difficult decision to take a break from FFXI. I cant justify the monthly fee at this time. I also might be looking into moving soon (wherever a job will take me) so adding in the cost and logistics of that I need to take this break.
I'm sorry I haven't been in touch sooner. Also, my phone has been shut off for the last couple of weeks so I apologize to anyone who tried to reach me there. It is back on now though, but for how long (with no job) I don't know.
Anyway, I just wanted to fill everyone in with what happened, let you all know I am alive, and bring you up to speed with where things are now.
This isn't a goodbye. I'll still see you guys on here, and still get on TS to talk from time to time. Eventually I do plan on reactivating my account as well. I'm hoping I can do that by Christmas. This is a 'I'll see you soon-ish" hopefully!

That's a tough situation compounded by further shittyness. I hope things improve soon! We'll be here whenever you need to come back and beat on a galka or two.
I'm glad you are still alive, I am sorry that people suck. Some guy proved that 6% of people are outright assholes (and usually identifiable by driving large gas guzzling vehicles), and the other 94% are occasionally assholes, which means that on any given day we are all surrounded by turds.
All I want for Christmas is maid service and bourbon balls!
