Hello, surgery itself went well so I have way less cancer but due to complications after, I ended up in hospital much longer than expected and feel somewhere between ground beef and chopped liver. Finally home yesterday and am finding out that sittin in the hospital bed was bad, but so is sitting or laying down on anything at home (just hard to get comfortable no matter what I do). If anyone has any tips for surviving the "after" of major abdominal surgery I am open to suggestions!
Anyway, I missed you guys and thought of you occasionally while I was being subjected to medical procedures. I intend to try to play if only to take my mind off reality a bit until my next round of surgery in a few weeks.

All I want for Christmas is maid service and bourbon balls!
Somewhere between ground beef and chopped liver you say? So if we grab a few onions…maybe some garlic… what?
Gratz on the surgery going well, here's hoping you have a speedy recovery. My only suggestion would have been installing permanent shock collars onto your children so you can remotely punish/summon them while you're stuck in bed. But I would have suggested that even if you hadn't just had surgery.
Well glad to see everything turned out ok for ya. I try to avoid surgery, doctors and hospitals at all costs so no after surgery advice from me. Other than plenty of rest and a few weeks from now you should start feeling humanish again.

Glad to hear everything is going OK. Hope your recovery continues getting better.
My mother had some major abdominal surgery last year, and there were complications. We almost lost her.
One of the things the doctor stressed was follow the advice from the post surgery dietician. Especially concerning protein. My mothers diet following surgery wasnt that great (who knew you couldnt eat after getting your stomach chopped to pieces) and her recovery was hampered greatly until she was able to find foods and drinks that she could handle and were agreeable to her.
I could probably offer a whole regiment of ideas and suggestions from what she went through.
If the dietician has you taking protein supplements, I can probably make some suggestions for protein drinks that dont taste like a cat just shit in your mouth too lol.
Glad to hear things are at least a little better Cair. Don't know much when it comes to recovering from surgery but I'm guessing sitting in a computer chair playing video games isn't the best idea. So take it easy and even if you aren't up for playing you can always drop us a line on the forums.
